Posted on September 2, 2013 By vfadmin

Installing a WordPress theme is so easy and secure that you can do it yourself. Installing a WordPress theme will not take much of your time; all you need to do is just follow these five simple steps. Automatic upgrades are one of the key features of WordPress theme installation. What’s your opinion? Isn’t that great? The only requirement for such installation is a web hosting provider that offers C-Panel to follow these five steps.

    Five simple steps to follow:

    1. Download the latest Version of WordPress

To download the latest version, just visit: http://wordpress.org/download/. The download contains a zip file; you just need to unzip the file under your domain and type your own domain name like http://yourdomain.com/wordpress in this way you can access your blog.

    2. Database for WordPress

With the creation of database on web server and MySQL, users can access data any time and can modify it whenever it is mandatory. Developing a database for WordPress is quite easy. You just need to log in to your C-Panel account and click on MySQL icon.

Now you’ll see MySQL Account Maintenance screen. Under current databases, just type the name of database and click on ‘Create Database’ button. You will get a notification on your screen that a database is created. To select the user(s), just click on “Add Users to Your Database” and select the user(s). Now the database is configured for use.

    3. Place the WordPress files in the desired location on your Web Server

There are two options for placing WordPress files, whether you can integrate it into the root of your domain by simply uploading the zip file into the root directory of web server or you can place WordPress files into the sub-directory of your website.

Access C-Panel’s File Manager and upload the zip file there. Now click on extract file contents and all your WordPress files will be extracted.

    4. Retitle the wp-config-sample.php file to wp-config.php

All of these retitled files are validated for database access. In C-Panel, highlight wp-config.php under the www folder then click on rename. In this way you can get the sample section out and save it. After editing the files, set user ID and password of database, change the table prefix and make it complex by using letters and numbers like “Supernova869_”

    5. Run the WordPress Installation Script

The last and final step is to run the WordPress script in any browser of your choice by accessing wp-admin/install.php. The WordPress installation script has been categorized into root directory and sub-directory. If WordPress theme is installed in root directory just visit: http://your-domain.com/wp-admin/install.php.

If WordPress is installed in its sub-directory, you can access your blog in this way: http://your-domain.com/blog/wp-admin/install.php

By creating your user ID you can secure your site. Select any username to make it an administrator and also a password, otherwise WordPress 3.0 can provide password automatically which can be changed later.

So, by following these five simple steps to install WordPress theme, you can have your own WordPress website or blog in no time !
